belly...

Who could resist the round belly on this bunny??  Not me!  I found him at my favorite antique store on Friday and he was 40% off so I just couldn't resist.  I also couldn't pass up this Easter egg tin.  It has such cute graphics.  These were the perfect final touches to complete Oliver's Easter basket!

Oliver is really into helmets and swords right now so I got these cute little Playmobil figures for his Easter basket.  2 knights and 1 race car driver.  Also in his basket... bubbles, Mickey Mouse hand soap, cotton candy and m&m's.  I hope he loves it!

I found this adorable vintage Easter card for Oliver that has inserts for dimes that are the wheels on the train!  Want one?  I have 2 more in my etsy shop Olivers Paperie.

school and sneak peek...

Mornings are already much easier.  Oliver is doing so well at school!  Ms Michelle said he has great manners and is participating very well.  Oliver has become quite the little story teller lately which is really funny.  He is such a character!

Sneak Peek... Coming Soon to OliversForest

first day

Well, today was the big day!  Oliver's first day of preschool!  The morning started off pretty rough.  As soon as he woke up he was saying that he wanted me to stay with him at school.  Then he had a huge meltdown because he didn't want to wear the shirt I put on him.  It was the coolest vintage western shirt that I have been saving for a special occasion but I decided it wasn't worth the fight.  He chose this striped vintage shirt instead.  Once he was happy with his outfit we headed to the car.  He saw his favorite Cars blanket in his bag and asked why we were taking it.  I told him it was for nap time.  Here comes another fit.  Oliver doesn't take naps very often at home anymore.  I assured him he didn't have to sleep, he just had to lay there and rest (his teacher said he slept for an hour and a half).  So, off we went to school.  We got there and they were sitting on the mat singing and the teacher asked him if he could come help her with the pointer.  I barely got a hug and he was running to Ms Michelle.  I picked him up early since it was his first day and Ms Michelle said he had a great day.  She said he was a great listener and really enjoyed the science table where they looked at different bugs.  Yay Oliver!!

karli

Oliver's cousin Karli came over for a sleepover last Thursday after Oliver had his last day of daycare with Ms Laura.  She is 2 months younger than Ollie and they are BEST BUDS!  We went to the park, rode the scooter and bike, watered the flowers (and every plant, bush, tree, dirt, etc...).  Friday we went to San Marcos to see Grandpa Larry for lunch and then I took the kids to see The Lorax (which was awesome).  Here are some photos of our time with sweet little Karli.  Isn't she the cutest!?!
I love the action shots of Oliver!  He is wearing vintage thrifted shirt and pants.  Both of Karli's dresses were thrifted as well (I always pick up cute stuff for her when I'm out thrifting).

new beginnings

After Oliver finished his last gymnastics class we went over to his new school to hang out and get him comfortable before he starts on Monday.  This is going to be a huge adjustment for him!  For starters, up until very recently I have only worked 2 days a week which means he only went to daycare 2 days a week.  He will be at his new school 5 days a week.  And, this school is VERY structured.  I am NOT structured!  Oliver has never had structure.  We 'wing it' everyday.  We eat when we're hungry, nap when we're tired and do whatever comes up each day.  So, I'm a little nervous about how he is going to adjust to such a set routine.  But, with kindergarten fast approaching, I figured we had better get on the ball.  I'd rather him get adjusted now than be in a huge shock when he starts kinder.  He is so easy going that I'm sure he'll be fine.  While we were up there visiting he made 2 new friends, Marcus and Kaitlyn.  His new teacher, Ms Michelle said she would even seat them at the same table.  So, that made me feel good!

Isn't Ms Michelle adorable!?!  They were having western day on the day we visited!

So, what am I going to be doing while Oliver is off at school??  Well, I have picked up one extra day at work, so I will be working 3 days a week at my dental office.  And the other 2 days I plan to devote to Etsy!  This makes me so happy because I really have not had the time necessary to devote to my shop.  Not only will I have much more time for OliversForest, but, I want to open another shop for vintage paper (cards, invitations, giftwrap...).  I have lots of stuff already stocked up, just never had the time to move forward.  So, we'll see what happens... I'm excited!
