Norah is here...
This is my brand new niece Norah Jean Claybrook. She was born Dec 3rd and is healthy, happy and perfect. So, why am I feeling so blue? I know that I should just focus on the positive and be thankful that she arrived safely. But, my heart is so torn at the moment. Norah lives in Arizona and I live in Texas. That is a really far distance. I can only imagine how selfish and greedy I sound but it just really isn't fair that I can't hold her, kiss her, shower her with affection. I want to be in her life. Not twice a year at holidays; all the time. I want to be there when she learns to walk, starts ballet and heads off to kindergarten. More importantly, I want Oliver to be in her life. It just isn't fair but I guess life isn't fair. Hopefully my pity party ends SOON because I know I am being ridiculous but my heart hurts. :(
here is a treasury i made for you norah...i'm an auntie.

Preschool
Oliver started his first day in a little preschool program this morning! This is just a little test run to see how he does in a more school type environment. For some reason he has been protesting going to the in-home daycare he has gone to since he was a baby. So, we're just trying something different to see what works best. I have never had to pack him a lunch before because he daycare always provided lunch so I was excited to go get him a lunch-bag and make his lunch! I tucked a little note inside and when I picked Oliver up his teacher said he was really impressed by the note. He said he had never seen another parent do that!! Really?? Who are these parents? I thought all parents put notes in the lunchbox!?!
Oliver was so excited to wear his backpack. He was running into school which I took as a good sign!
As soon as we walked in the room he looked around, went and hung his backpack on a hook like the other kids had done and sat down to start playing! Such a big boy!
He had his own spot assigned for him which I thought was cute. And when I picked him up he proudly showed me the snowflake and wreath he had made!
He was quite fond of this little cutie named Grace and couldn't resist giving her several hugs on our way out!
Yay! Preschool was a success!

Happy Thanksgiving + SALE
Happy Thanksgiving!! I am thankful for many things but I am most thankful for my precious Oliver, the love of my life who brings me so much joy and happiness! He is such a character these days. He has been making up a lot of little fibs lately so it's hard to know what the truth really is. We will be trying out a little preschool program in December so I'm excited to see how he does with that. He has been doing great in his gymnastics class so I'm keeping my fingers crossed he does well with the preschool.
Wishing everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving!

Etsy Banner
I made my banner for my etsy shop using this darling cloth book called 'My Bedtime Book'. I took photos of the book with the intention of selling it but thought the images were so adorable I decided to use it for my banner. As with the romper I used for my logo, I will keep this cloth book forever as it represents so much for me personally. Sweet dreams!

look familiar???
Does the darling little drummer and trumpet boy look familiar? This was one of the first vintage baby outfits I bought to sell. I loved it so much I made it my logo for OliversForest. I still have this adorable little outfit and will not part with it as it represents something that is so special to me. I love my little etsy shop and all of the wonderful people I have 'met'. It has just been so much fun! And how many people have a hobby that actually makes them a little money rather than cost money???
My next post I will show you where I got my banner from!
