birthday getaway

I had the most wonderful birthday getaway in Burton at a bed and breakfast called Knittel Inn. It was built in the 1800's and the owners put a LOT of time and love into restoring this beautiful home. I was in heaven!

the main house...
a second house with 5 guest rooms. this was an old 1800's farmhouse that was sectioned in half to be brought here...

and, they even have their own antique store on site...

each day a new breakfast menu is placed in your room...

how adorable is this little sign!?!

3 course breakfast is served on china...

i was in awe of the detailing that went into the ceilings throughout both houses...

tin tile ceilings make my heart race... i'm in love...

tall baseboards also make my heart race...

beautiful framework on windows...

As much as I loved my room at the B&B I did manage to get out to do a bit of shopping in Brenham. Cute little antique shops, book stores and a restaurant called 'Must Be Heaven'... doesn't get any better than this!

i found 2 new pin cushions for my collection...

I got 2 wonderful birthday presents. Something OLD and something NEW!

my mother-in-law got me this very cool antique pitcher/cups set. i have always wanted a set of these! thank you!!

and, my mommy got me a new set of pots/pans that i desperately needed! thank you!!

What a perfect birthday! Couldn't have asked for anything more!
